Trinidad and new hosts

We got to Trinidad at lunchtime and found our host at the station holding a sign with our names on it. He doesn't speak English but his wife has a few words and speaks good French, so we've managed to communicate.

The casa isn't as plush as the other two we've stayed in, but the hosts are lovely and it's like staying in a family home more than the others. They have an adorable miniature daschund puppy (called Linda) who spends the day scampering around excitedly, then falls asleep a bit like Shelby.

Our room has two double beds, a door which opens onto their courtyard, and a bathroom with a good shower.

Once we'd settled in we set off to explore the town. It was very hot and I was tired and thirsty and I got rather grumpy. The bustle was annoying me, as were the men on the street making their usual sleazy comments. I realised that, while I like seeing other countries, I like being at home more (whether that's Limerick or Newtown or Bangor) with my things around me, with everyone speaking a language I understand.

Oops, there's a "problemo electrico" that has spread throughout the whole town and it's very dark.
