For once the electricity was functioning just fine in Trinidad so we had nice cleansing hot showers when we got back to the casa. We pretty much just hung around there until dinner, reading our books and playing with Linda.
For dinner (at the casa) we chose lobster on the recommendation of the Welshies, who said it was a local speciality. It was so delicious. I don't think I've ever had lobster as a complete dish before, just as part of other things like chowder. It's a rather expcensive thing to develop a taste for though....I think our hostess lady was upset that I couldn't finish it. Better have an omelette in the morning to placate her.
We headed to Casa de la Trova (the right one this time) for the evening. The first band was great, with an exceptional trumpet player so we bought a CD again. But the second was nothing special so I entertained myself by watching the tourists dancing. The women were generally not great, dancing from their knees instead of their hips, but the men were mostly quite good. The best pair looked Cuban and the man really was a good dancer, but he was so caught up in how great he was that his partner seemed like an after-thought.
We managed to stay up till a rather daring 10.30 this time, then collapsed into bed to sleep.
